The Infiniti Q series SUVs have always been seen as some of the sturdiest and most reliable vehicles for off-road driving which are powered with engines which give truly spectacular horsepower and torque capacity. The QX80 which is one of the most popular models in the series is also a favourite among buyers due to the tremendous stability and balance it provides. The 2016 upgrade to this model comes with some major changes in its interior design while also tweaking the engine configurations to make it even more powerful.

The major changes in the latest model of the Infinity QX80 lie in the interior design. While the upholstery has been given a fresh look with premium leather seats and a French burl trim, a number of new features have also been added for infotainment. A 13 speaker Bose audio system is the premium addition to the cabin along with second row heated seats and climate control option.

The exterior design does not come with any significant changes over its predecessor except slight modifications in the head and tail lights to bring the model at par with its competitors. Additionally, the bumper has also been revamped to include solar sensors giving it an all new look.

Safety features in this SUV are pretty standard and consist of blind spot warning, lane departure warning, collision warning, cruise control, cross traffic warning and many more.

The engine is literally the star of the show which sets this car apart from all other SUVs. The Infiniti QX80 boasts of a really powerful V8 engine with 5.6 litre capacity. The engine has a horsepower of 400 while a torque rating of 412 lb-ft. Moreover, the transmission comes with 7 shift automatic along with an acceleration rate of 0 to 60 mph in 7 seconds. The SUV comes with a classic front wheel drive with the option of all wheel drive.

The only area in which the engine is wanting is in fuel efficiency as it gives only 20mpg on a highway and 14 mpg in the city.2016 Infiniti QX 80 front

2016 Infiniti QX80 Price and release date

The QX80 will be more or less similarly priced as the previous model with a base price of at least USD 63,000. However, the all-wheel drive models will be costlier. There will also be some limited edition models which will be priced at USD 89,000 and above. The Infiniti QX80 can be seen in showroom by December 2015.
