2016 Mitsubishi Outlander
Car makers across the globe have been concentrating more and more towards developing fuel efficient and cost friendly SUVs which are specifically designed for families. Mitsubishi has managed to join the race with a bang with the 2016 Outlander. A classic 3 row seater, the 2016 Outlander incorporates hundreds of improvements over the older model along with sporting a stylish look and a much better transmission.
2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Interior and Exterior Design
The exterior design of the 2016 Mitubishi Outlander has been said to be somewhat inspired from the classic Montero SUVs which sported a bumper side protection design. This new design is called the ‘Dynamic Shield’ both in the front and back such that hood is smoothed over. Coupled with several other minor trims, the SUV gets a smooth look which is somewhat a cross between a sports car and a family utility vehicle.
The interiors of this SUV also have a fresh new look about them ensuring class while keeping the features understated. The dashboard is quite attractive with tiny bamboo accents while the steering wheel and navigation system installed on the dashboard too are upgraded to the latest design. Additionally, the second row seat is also more easy to fold back than it was in the earlier model. The overall look of the interiors is very warm and accommodating which is ideal for a family travelling together.
As compared to the earlier Outlander models, the 2016 Outlander is meant more for domestic use rather than to be driven on rugged terrain. Accordingly, the safety features have also been made pretty standard with air bags, lane switch warning, hill start warning etc.
2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Engine
The changes in the engine model have been the most anticipated of all in the newest model of the Outlander. It comes with a 2.4 litre 4 cylinder engine with base 166hp. This engine makes the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander a really powerful vehicle with almost no CVT whine and really smooth acceleration which can bring the car up to 60mph within a matter of seconds.
2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Price and release date
In spite of the many improvements over the 2015 model, the 2016 Outlander is priced comparatively lower with a starting price of approx..USD 24,000. This price makes the 2016 Outlander one of the most affordable SUVs in the market. It is all set to release in the first half of 2016 with definite news of it showcasing in the New York Motor Show in April 2016.
