About 2017 GMC Terrain 

GMC Terrain is a 5 door crossover utility vehicle (midsize) manufactured by GMC since 2010. GM claimed the car replaced Pontiac Torrent which was available with same dealers. The 2017 GMC Terrain will receive a complete design update as well as new power train.


2017 GMC Terrain Redesigned Terrain: Interiors and Exteriors

The new Terrain will receive a new body made from high strength steel and aluminum thus, making the car more lightweight than the current models. The front fascia will feature a distinctive air intake grille, with new LED headlamps, raised front bumpers and latest LED fog lights. The car will ride on a standard 17-19 inch wheelbase and will be available in two new colors: Sapphire Blue Metallic and Cypress Green Metallic.2017 GMC Terrain front


The rear end will feature redesigned tail lamps, distinctive rear bumpers with dual exhausts at the corners. The 2017 GMC Terrain has a relatively straight body line and roof rails as well, making it more aerodynamic than its predecessor.

The interiors will feature a completely redesigned cabin, covered with premium materials and new styling accessories. Upgraded driver and safety assist will be made available along with latest high tech features. The new Terrain will be launched in three trim levels: SLT, SLE and Mount McKinley. The SLT will be further divided into SLT1 and SLT2, as well as the SLE, which is divided into SLE1 and SLE2.

2017 GMC Terrain engine options 

The 2017 GMC Terrain models are powered by a 3.6 liter LFX V6 engine which can generate about 301 ponies and 369 Nm of torque, and a standard 2.4 liter inline 4 cylinder unit, which can produce 182 horsepower and 233.2 Nm of torque. Rumors have stated that the same engine will be available on 2017 model, with 2.4 liter unit as a standard option in all trim levels. A more powerful unit may also be offered.

Transmission Package and Fuel Economy

The current models are available in 6 speed automatic transmission which is expected to pass on to 2017 model. The car may be available in front wheel drive configuration as a standard with a 4 wheel drive kit for higher trim levels. No relevant update is available about fuel economy of this car.

Improved Infotainment, Driver Assist and Safety Kit

The 2017 GMC Terrain will be equipped with upgraded GMC Intellilink infotainment system, featuring a high resolution diagonal 7 inch touch screen display equipped with latest in voice recognition. Hands-free technology allows access to Blackberry, iPhone and Android platform functions connected to IntelliLink via USB or Bluetooth. Internet radio will allow access to Pandora 4 and SticherTM4 apps to stream music directly.

Intellilink also allows access to over 140 channels via Sirius XM Satellite Radio with travel link. Hands-free voice control system allows the driver to listen any radio channel without taking hands off the steering wheel.

Advanced Driver and Safety Assist includes all the standard functions as offered in current models with the inclusion of automatic dimming mirror, 8 way electronically adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, etc.

2017 GMC Terrain Price and Availability

The 2017 GMC Terrain will rival Ford Escape, Kia Sorento and Honda CR-V. The car will be launched in the later half of 2016 with an approximate price tag of $26,000.
